As they shifted position, one zebra stepped in front of another, and for a brief moment their stripes aligned in a perfect pattern.

I moved quickly to a low angle and framed the scene as a panorama, cutting out sky and surroundings until there was nothing left but stripes and the calm gaze of the animal in front. The light was soft enough to keep detail in both black and white, allowing the lines to remain clean and strong. It is exactly the kind of image I love to make – a photograph that still respects the animal, but plays with shape and design.
