I made this photograph at sunset in Botswana, during a time when the wind had picked up, stirring vast clouds of dust across the landscape. We were driving across an open pan when we spotted this young white rhino. It was alone, seemingly unfazed by the swirling dust and the fading light.

The scene immediately struck me as incredibly symbolic. The rhino, standing firm amidst the chaos, seemed to embody the very spirit of survival. I positioned the vehicle to capture the full drama of the dust and light, ensuring the rhino was silhouetted against the glowing sky. I waited for a moment when its head was slightly lowered, conveying a sense of quiet determination.

Alone in the Dust – White Rhino Photo Print is more than just a picture of an animal. For me, it represents the lonely battle that these magnificent creatures face every single day. It is a powerful Botswana rhino print that speaks to the heart, urging us to consider our role in protecting these “last rhinos” from the greed and stupidity of mankind.
