In Makgadikgadi Pans, even a small change in the wind carries news: the scent of rain, the sound of distant hooves, or the shadow of a raptor overhead. On this morning, the meerkat family had spread out through the grass, foraging in the gentle light.

This young suricate paused on the edge of a mound and turned its head into the breeze. For a few seconds it simply listened, whiskers and fur lifted by the wind, eyes scanning the horizon. That soft yet alert pose, set against the open landscape, is what I wanted to hold in this meerkat in the wind print.
