Story Behind The Photograph – More Playful Moments

This image comes from the same afternoon as the previous two pup play photographs. The pack had been resting in thick bush, but I had anticipated their move to an open clearing for their evening greeting and play. I positioned myself low to the ground in a spot with a clean, distant background.

When the pups poured into the clearing, they immediately began to chase, wrestle and shout. This particular moment caught my eye because of the clear interaction between the two pups. One was clearly being a little bit naughty, and the other was reacting with a mix of surprise and continued play. It was a perfect example of their joyful, boisterous nature.

Energy, Expression And Colour

What stands out in Naughty Wild Dog Pups is the clear expression of playfulness. The open mouths and stretched bodies of the african wild dog pups show their full engagement in the game. The low angle puts you right in the middle of their world, making the interaction feel immediate and personal.
