Story Behind The Photograph

Captured during the rainy season in Botswana’s Kalahari, Stormwind Patrol shows a male lion striding through the open grass as the wind whips his mane sideways. Above him, storm clouds gather and shafts of light break through, turning his call into something almost elemental—lion, wind, and weather moving as one. The black‑and‑white treatment heightens the drama of the scene, emphasising texture in the mane, movement in the grass, and contrast in the sky. This print brings powerful, cinematic energy to an interior, pairing beautifully with more intimate lion portraits from the desert.
