Story Behind The Photograph – Curious And Strong

This pup quickly stood out from the rest of the litter. With four neat white feet and a confident way of moving, Sox was easy to recognise. While the other pups sometimes hung back, he often pushed forward, keeping up with the adults and checking every new sound and scent.

One sunrise in the forest the pack paused on open ground. I lay low to the earth to catch their world from pup height. Sox stepped slightly away from the group and looked straight towards me, curious but not nervous. The low angle stretched his long legs and showed off his markings, while the soft background kept the scene simple. When he stood like this, ears forward and tail relaxed, I pressed the shutter.

Light, Simplicity And Character
