Why travel with Carole?
Carole Deschuymere has lost her heart in Africa, and she traveled already 10 times to Mana Pools:
There is a kind of magic in the air here. I’ve never felt as alive as in Mana Pools. You must have experienced it to understand…
Carole organizes unique trips, with small groups of up to 6 people. She is the perfect photography teacher, and together with an experienced professional local guide she forms a top team.
The guides in Zimbabwe are among the best in the world. In Kenya, Carole is working with the guide who accompanied the BBC crew for the documentary series ‘Big Cat Diary’.
The trips are always an adventurous, but safe journey, completely under supervision, where you will be completely immersed in nature. No typical classic tourist safari, but a unique experience where you will never have come so close to wild animals, but the guides also take you to the best places with the most beautiful light, with breathtaking sunsets …
Carole and the local guide know how animals behave. They know the best places to photograph them, because they have spent weeks and months in the wild themselves. But they have always treated the wild animals with respect.
“That’s why the animals usually come to us in a quiet way,” Carole knows. “Every trip we focus on one large area. This gives you more insight into the location of the animals, how they move. We don’t change location everyday, because the longer you stay in one place, the better the photography gets. This allows us to guarantee a maximum amount of time to take pictures.”
The phenomenal landscapes and the unique wildlife are a dream for creative photographers, but as a professional photographer Carole assists both novice and advanced photographers with tips and after each game drive photos and photo editing are discussed together. But even if you’re not interested in photography, you won’t be bored for a moment! In and around the camp there is plenty to do!
We spend the night in the bush, in comfortable tented camps. In Mana Pools we travel in a spacious open safari jeep and walk around when we see something to photograph. The 17-day round trip in Botswana we make with 3 Toyota Hilux jeeps… and you drive yourself your own 4X4 course!
